Our Spectra CR700 receiver is a combination laser detector for machine-mounted grading, excavation, and conventional grade-rod work. It provides LED guidance for the operator and a digital readout of the distance from on-grade.

The Spectra Precision CR700 can be attached to small grading equipment, including mini-excavators, backhoes, and skid steers, or secured to a grade rod for elevation checks. Spectra Precision CR700 Machine Display and Receiver Features

This Spectra CR700 combination laser receiver uses bright directional LEDs to show high, low, and on-grade positions from the machine. Its front display provides a numerical reading, allowing the operator to check the distance from grade without relying only on the light bar.

The receiver detects rotating laser transmitters within a 610nm to 780nm spectrum. Its 127mm detection height helps acquire the beam, while selectable accuracy settings cover 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, and 25 mm deadbands. Audio can be set to loud, medium, or low, and LED brightness can be adjusted or switched off.

Using the Spectra Precision CR700 for Machine Grading

Set the rotating laser to the required grade and position the machine or grade rod within the receiver’s working range. The CR700 receiver’s green, red, and blue indicators show on-grade, high, and low positions. When machine-mounted, plumb the dipper stick and place the bucket at the height benchmark or required depth before checking the display.

Pairing the Spectra Precision CR700 with a compatible laser enables Grade Match and PlaneLok functions. Grade Match helps establish a grade between two known points, while PlaneLok maintains the laser reference on the paired receiver. The fingerprint function locks the receiver to its paired laser and rejects strikes from other transmitters working nearby.

The internal radio can connect the CR700 to another compatible receiver for remote display and monitoring. This can provide elevation information away from the machine when the paired units remain within radio range. Use the receiver for general grading, excavating, vertical alignment, and elevation control.

Mounting the CR700 for Rod and Machine Applications

Attach the supplied C71 magnetic mount to a suitable machine surface, or fit the C70 clamp to a levelling staff. The grade-rod clamp provides a reference for checking elevations at different points, while the magnetic mount keeps the display visible from the operator’s position.
