Our Spectra Precision DG813 pipe laser helps you establish pipe alignment, set gradients and check existing pipework. Its SF803 Spot Finder enables automatic beam alignment and grade calculation for drainage and sewer installation.
We supply the Spectra pipe laser DG813 with an RC803 remote control, ST802 transponder and SF803 Spot Finder. Part of our pipe lasers range, its compact housing suits confined manhole inverts and pipe setups.
Spectra Precision DG813 Grade Control and Specifications
The DG813 automatically self-levels throughout its −12% to +40% grade range. Cross-axis compensation corrects sideways tilt, reducing the manual adjustment needed when positioning the instrument.
Its key specifications include:
- Levelling accuracy: ±1.5mm at 30m.
- Grade range: −12% to +40%.
- Operating distance: up to 150m.
- Laser beam: red.
- Environmental protection: IP68-rated laser housing.
- Battery operation: approximately 40 hours with NiMH rechargeable batteries or 50 hours with alkaline batteries.
Alkaline batteries fit directly into the instrument without a separate battery pack. An optional vehicle charger provides another charging option when working away from mains power.
Spectra Precision DG813 with SF803 Spot Finder
The SF803 Spot Finder supports four functions for positioning the beam and checking gradients:
- Spot Align: automatically aligns the beam with the centre of the Spot Finder, helping establish direction during setup.
- Spot Match: calculates the grade between the laser and Spot Finder, supporting checks on installed pipework and existing gradients.
- SpotLok: automatically holds the beam at the Spot Finder’s centre to maintain the selected reference.
- Spot Search: helps you manually locate the beam over longer distances during above-ground operation.
These functions support initial alignment and checks when returning to a previously established setup.
Spectra Precision DG813 Remote Operation and Pipe Setup
The RC803 remote uses infrared through the pipe at distances up to 150m and radio for above-ground setups at distances up to 130m. Its graphical interface matches the instrument’s display, allowing you to view settings and make adjustments remotely.
Line Set/Check raises the beam up to a 100% slope for direction checks towards the next manhole. Line Scan sweeps it left and right so you can stop it on the target using the remote. Line Alert warns you if the setup is disturbed after grade and alignment are established.
The optically enhanced target redirects the beam upwards for viewing from above the pipe. Mounting attachments accommodate pipes from 150mm diameter, while an optional blower circulates air to help reduce beam refraction.
