FRD400

Our Fukuda FRD400 laser receiver helps you locate a red rotating laser beam using visual indications and audible tones. Front and rear displays let you check the beam position from either side, while sound guidance allows you to make adjustments without continuously watching the screen.

Suitable as a receiver for Fukuda FRE208-2S, it also works with other red beam rotating lasers. Two accuracy bands let you select the detection tolerance for your levelling task. Compare our laser level receivers for different beam types, display options and site requirements.

Fukuda FRD400 Beam Detection and Accuracy

The Fukuda FRD400 laser receiver provides fine detection at ±1mm and coarse detection at ±5mm. The fine setting suits checks requiring a narrower on-grade band, while the coarse setting allows a wider tolerance when locating the reference level.

A 44mm detecting sensor receives the rotating beam. The specified detection range is a minimum of 450 m diameter, describing the working area across the laser setup. When choosing a transmitter and receiver combination, check the operating range of both units.

Key specifications include:

  • Compatibility: FRE208-2S and red-beam rotating lasers.
  • Displays: front and rear.
  • Audio: tones indicate beam location.
  • Accuracy bands: fine ±1mm and coarse ±5mm.
  • Detection sensor: 44mm.
  • Specified detection range: minimum 450m diameter.
  • Positioning aids: one magnet and one bubble vial.
  • Protection: IP54 rating with rubber protection.
  • Automatic shut-off: 15 minutes.
  • Battery requirement: one 9V battery.

Using the Fukuda FRD400 for Level Checks

Set your rotating laser on a stable support and establish the required reference level. Switch on the Fukuda FRD400 laser receiver, select the accuracy band and direct the detecting sensor towards the transmitter. Move the receiver through the beam, following the display and audible guidance until you locate on-grade.

For elevation comparisons, take an initial reading at a known benchmark. You can then check other points against that reference while keeping the laser setup fixed. This supports tasks such as checking ground levels, transferring heights and setting reference points for construction work.

Pair this red beam laser receiver with a suitable transmitter from our rotary laser levels range.

Positioning and Protecting the Fukuda FRD400

For staff-based measurements, secure the Fukuda FRD400 laser receiver to a suitable levelling staff with a compatible clamp. Keep the staff upright and the sensor facing the beam when comparing readings.

The built-in magnet offers another positioning option on suitable steel surfaces, and the bubble vial helps you check orientation. Rubber protection surrounds the housing, while the 15-minute automatic shut-off helps conserve battery power between uses. Browse our laser level accessories for additional mounting equipment.
