Our Spectra Precision GL422N combines automatic horizontal and vertical self-levelling with digital grade control on two axes. It provides references for checking elevations, setting surface falls and aligning construction work, with an HL760 digital readout receiver and RC402N radio remote supplied.
This Spectra dual slope laser allows you to enter separate X- and Y-axis gradients for work requiring falls in two directions. Compare the GL422N with our other grade laser levels when selecting the grade range and control functions for your site.
Spectra GL422N Grade Control and Specifications
The GL422N laser provides a grade range of −10% to +15% on each axis. You can enter the required gradient through the menu and confirm the setting before the instrument levels to that slope.
Key specifications include:
- Levelling accuracy: ±1.5mm at 30m.
- Self-levelling range: ±5°.
- Working diameter: approximately 800m with a receiver.
- Rotation speeds: 300 and 600rpm.

Horizontal operation supports elevation checks and grade work, while vertical operation provides a reference for alignment. The menu gives access to the functions available for the selected setup.
Spectra Precision GL422N with HL760 Grade Match and PlaneLok
The HL760 displays numerical differences from the on-grade position, helping you see how far the receiver is above or below the laser reference. Attach it to a suitable levelling staff when comparing elevations across the working area.
Automatic Grade Match measures an existing slope between two reference points on the Y-axis. The resulting grade appears on the laser and remote displays, supporting work where you need to match an existing gradient.
PlaneLok maintains the beam at a fixed receiver position to help hold horizontal elevation or vertical alignment. The receiver stays secured at the reference point while this function is active.
Fingerprinting helps the paired HL760 recognise your instrument’s beam and reject signals from other lasers. Mask mode lets you switch off selected beam sectors to limit interference with neighbouring crews.
Spectra Precision GL422N Remote Control and Rechargeable Kit
The RC402N controls the laser functions from up to 100m and mirrors the instrument’s display. This lets you adjust grades and check settings from your working position.
The rechargeable NiMH batteries provide approximately 35 hours of operation. Four D-cell alkaline batteries can be used as backup power. Alongside the laser, HL760 and RC402N, the package includes a C70 receiver adapter, 105516 vertical receiver adapter, charger, carrying case and user documentation.
